Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift hospital position requiring 2 years of experience and an active Ohio RRT license.

Details

• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
• Weekend coverage required
• Floating between campuses may be required
• Works in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings
• Performs ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, weaning, and troubleshooting high pressure alarms
• Administers aerosol and medication delivery systems including nebulizer and inhaled medications
• Performs airway management including extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care/management
• Utilizes high flow nasal cannula and trach collar oxygen therapy

Requirements

• Active RRT or CRT certification (RRT and CRT not both required)
• Active Ohio State RRT license required and must be in hand at time of submission (pending not accepted)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• High school diploma or official transcripts required during compliance process
• Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• First-time travelers will be considered
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Provides respiratory therapy services in adult critical care and emergency department settings
• Participates in medication administration, ventilator management, and airway management duties
• Completes mandatory Ohio BCI & FBI fingerprinting promptly upon accepting offer, as this process includes lifetime background checks and urgency is required to avoid delays
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible for travel assignments at this facility
• Requested RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
