Job summary

Phillips Infrastructure in Fort Lauderdale seeks a Safety Manager for our heavy civil construction projects in South Florida. You will plan, implement, and supervise safety, accident, and fire protection programs to ensure compliance with industry and company standards on all job sites.

Responsibilities include hazard identification, conducting inspections, issuing permits, maintaining records, training staff, and coordinating with safety personnel.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years experience in safety management in construction.
• Knowledge of safety regulations.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Recognize and control hazardous working conditions and unsafe activities through safety management and communication with supervisory personnel.
• Conduct work area surveillance inspections, air sampling tests, property damage assessments, and personal injury investigations; issue permits as needed.
• Document accidents, safety violations, and unsafe conditions; conduct root cause analysis.
• Perform hazard assessments and recommend PPE to minimize exposure.
• Review documentation to ensure records/reports are complete and submitted as required; take corrective action.
• Accompany safety, health, and insurance personnel during inspections.
• Assist in safety orientation training programs for employees.
• Work in extreme environments; walk long distances and photograph site conditions.
• Conduct classroom and field training for project personnel; climb to heights on equipment and platforms.
