Job summary

Brookfield Properties in Washington, DC is seeking an Area Manager to oversee multiple apartment communities and mixed-use properties. You will supervise on-site property managers, drive financial performance, and maintain high customer service and asset standards.

You will lead budgeting, leasing oversight, and maintenance coordination, ensuring compliance and effective reporting to regional leadership. A strong track record in multi-site property management and team leadership is required.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate (Bachelor) Degree in Property Management required
• High school diploma / GED in General Studies preferred
• Associate Degree in General Studies preferred
• 10+ years of relative work experience offset minimum education requirements
• 8-10 years of general supervisory and property management experience required
• 3-4 years of multi-site management experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple sites with a team of property managers and drive asset performance
• Lead annual operating budgets and financial planning for assigned properties
• Coordinate marketing, leasing, and occupancy to optimize NOI
• Approve residency, leases, fees, and move-in/move-out processes
• Ensure maintenance programs, capital projects, and compliance with housing quality standards
• Manage vendor contracts and on-site software systems and training
• Provide leadership coverage and communicate with Corporate Office and Regional leadership
