Job summary

Bristol Bay Construction Holdings LLC is seeking a Construction Estimator to join its Mechanical team in Holt, FL. The role requires developing detailed cost estimates for mechanical HVAC and plumbing projects, analyzing specs, and coordinating with engineers, project managers, and suppliers.

Travel to project sites is expected as needed. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in mechanical estimating, a strong grasp of HVAC systems, and proficiency with ProEst or similar software.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in mechanical estimating across federal government, commercial and medical sectors
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering or related field is desired; experience may be considered in lieu of degree
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Experience estimating projects from $50K to $10M
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Proficiency with computer software including MS Office; ProEst or similar estimated software desirable
• Willingness to travel to project sites and work a flexible schedule

Responsibilities

• Develop pricing model per RFP requirements
• Create general and special conditions costs
• Conduct risk assessments and mitigation planning
• Analyze plans and specs to prepare detailed cost estimates
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to define scope
• Use estimating software to prepare cost estimates
• Select materials and equipment for projects
• Prepare and submit bid proposals for mechanical projects
• Coordinate pricing with suppliers and contractors
• Review constructability with key staff
• Review subcontractor proposals for scope coverage
• Maintain data on cost trends and data accuracy
• Ensure smooth transfer of awarded projects to field teams
• Present price proposals to senior management
• Create and manage multiple estimates simultaneously
• Communicate clearly in high-stress environments
