Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a High Voltage Transmission Inspector to support engineers and project managers in the Columbus, Ohio area with up to 100% travel for project mobilization. You will inspect a range of transmission-related construction activities, generate concise documentation, and ensure adherence to plans and codes.

The role requires 9+ years of inspection experience, a valid driver’s license, and professional licensure.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
9+ years of post-education construction inspection experience.
Licensure/certification(s) required.
Valid state driver’s license.
Knowledge of construction inspection principles and codes.
Analytical mindset with sound judgement.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

Perform field inspections on projects of moderate scope and complexity.
Examine concrete placement, underground pipelines, earthwork, paving, structures, and electrical installations.
Generate accurate documentation including photos, sketches, calculations, and reports.
Assist with risk identification and mitigation.
Coordinate field work with project teams and contractors.
Prepare and review load calculations and change orders.
Provide guidance to junior inspectors and train staff.
