Job summary

Independence Excavating, Inc. in Sterling, VA is seeking a Heavy Equipment Fuel Lube Technician to help maintain our diverse fleet.

You will perform fueling, greasing, fluid top-offs and routine maintenance on CAT, Komatsu and John Deere equipment, while following DOT safety rules. The ideal candidate has a Class B CDL with tanker and HAZMAT endorsements (or willingness to obtain), can travel to multiple job sites, and works well outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• Must follow all safety practices and procedures.
• Fueling/greasing equipment according to manufacturer’s maintenance manuals.
• Must be able to use a computer (Windows, Outlook).
• Operation of vehicles and equipment.
• Lifting up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmissions.
• Work extended hours outdoors in varied weather.
• Overtime may be necessary during peak times.
• Must have Class B CDL with tanker and HAZMAT endorsements, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Under limited supervision, set up and carry out a fuel route while greasing and topping off fluids on vehicles and equipment.
• Prepares and maintains records and reports.
• Wet line fueling equipment experience.
• Must be able to travel to various job sites.
• Comply with ALL D.O.T rules and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned
