Job summary

Kiewit Foundations Co. is seeking an Entry Level Field Engineer to support field operations and district activities.

This role blends field and office work, involving interpretation of drawings, measurement, planning, and collaboration across teams on underground and foundation projects. Base compensation is $82,000 to $88,000 per year, with opportunities for travel across North America and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field of engineering (civil/mining/mechanical/geotechnical/construction management)
• Previous construction or mining experience preferred
• Strong desire to work in underground construction
• Willingness to participate in job-site and district assignments
• Willingness to travel and relocate nationwide
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes
• Ability to work independently or in a team
• Proficient in Excel and Word
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Valid driver's license
• Strong analytical and planning skills

Responsibilities

• Assist interpretations of drawings and specs for field crews
• Perform quantity calculations and measure/material progress
• Assist in preparing work plans and work packages
• Assist in field surveying and work layout—elevation and control points
• Assist in compiling daily labor timesheets
• Assist in preparing Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and safety reviews
• Assist in coordinating material deliveries and schedules
• Support field operations and supervise subcontractor activities
• Contribute to data gathering for submittals and transmittals
• Assist in cost and bid-related data gathering and planning
