Job summary

Kiewit Foundations Co. is hiring entry-level Field/Office Engineers to support a broad range of underground and foundation projects across North America.

You will assist in drawings interpretation, quantity takeoffs, field surveying, scheduling, and cost data entry under the supervision of project management. The role blends field and office work, offering growth through district estimating units, bid reviews, and cost reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field of engineering (civil/mining/mechanical/geotechnical/construction management).
• Previous experience in construction or mining is preferred.
• Strong desire to work in the underground construction industry.
• Willing to travel and relocate nationwide as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and measurements to determine completed/installed materials and work.
• Assist in preparing work plans and work packages.
• Assist in field surveying and layout support including elevations and control points.
• Assist in compiling, processing, and confirming daily labor timesheets.
• Assist in Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) preparation.
• Support underground tunneling and construction operations.
• Participate in site safety reviews and toolbox meetings.
• Order and schedule material deliveries and coordinate work groups on site.
• Support Office Engineering with takeoffs and basic drafting.
• Assist in data collection for submittals and transmittals to customers/vendors.
