Job summary

GCS Recruitment seeks a Fiber Field Technician to support fiber network deployment projects including metro dark fiber and long-haul infrastructure. Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent hands-on experience in a technical discipline.
• Experience with ISP/OSP fiber infrastructure and data-center environments is preferred.
• Strong OTDR testing knowledge and ability to interpret results.
• Hands-on fiber testing, deployment, and troubleshooting experience.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills; able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber testing, characterization, and connectivity validation.
• Conduct OTDR testing and analyze results to identify issues and points of failure.
• Troubleshoot fiber network performance and connectivity problems.
• Support metro dark fiber and long-haul network deployments.
• Maintain testing records, project documents, and technical reports.
• Ensure adherence to site standards including grounding, power, and cable routing.
• Coordinate with project teams, vendors, and stakeholders to meet delivery timelines.
• Provide professional customer-facing support and technical expertise.
• Travel regularly to customer facilities and data centers as required.
