Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. in Valley, Nebraska is seeking a Fabrication Technician to fabricate, assemble, and service complex manufacturing systems worldwide.

You will interpret blueprints, perform welding, operate industrial tools, and conduct rigging and lifting operations in shop and field environments. This role requires travel both domestically and internationally, up to 25%, with a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to pass demonstration and knowledge test relative to mechanical knowledge and welding.
• Ability to safely learn to operate saw, iron worker, shear, cutting torch, drill press, lathe, and mill, brake press.
• Must be able to operate powered industrial equipment including forklifts, scissor lifts.
• Have ability to interpret complex blueprints as well as work from verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings to understand project specifications and requirements.
• Fabricate components and assemblies using metals, plastics, and composites.
• Perform welding tasks (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW) to meet project specifications.
• Use tools to cut and shape materials (saws, shears, plasma cutters).
• Assemble fabricated parts into final products or subassemblies with proper fit and function.
• Rig and move heavy loads using cranes, hoists and other lifting equipment.
• Inspect completed work and maintain tools and equipment.
