Job summary

Valmont Industries in Valley, NE is seeking a Fabrication Technician to join the Global Engineered Manufacturing Solutions (GEMS) team. You will fabricate components, interpret blueprints, and perform welding to support global operations.

You may travel domestically and internationally up to 25% and operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other equipment. The role emphasizes safe rigging, precise fabrication, and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to pass demonstration and knowledge test.
• Ability to safely learn to operate saw, iron worker, shear, cutting torch, drill press, lathe, mill, brake press.
• Must be able to operate powered industrial equipment including forklifts, scissor lifts.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings to understand project specifications.
• Fabricate components and assemblies using metals, plastics, and composites.
• Perform welding tasks (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW) to meet project specs.
• Use saws, shears, plasma cutters to cut and shape materials.
• Rig and move heavy loads using cranes and hoists.
• Inspect finished work for quality and adjust as necessary.
