Job summary

Ames Construction is seeking a Quality Control Technician for field-level testing, inspection, and documentation to ensure construction activities meet contract specifications and quality standards. You will work directly with the Quality Control Manager on site.

Responsibilities include daily QC documentation, material verification, coordinating with project engineers, and maintaining logs for project records and closeout. Travel may be required within the United States.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in construction quality control, materials testing, or related field role.
• Strong written documentation and reporting skills.
• Proficiency with QC software/documentation systems (e.g., QCS, Procore, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Document daily QC activities, test results, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
• Verify materials and workmanship comply with contract plans and specifications prior to and during installation.
• Coordinate with project engineers and superintendents to identify and resolve quality issues in the field.
• Maintain accurate QC logs, submittals, and inspection reports for project records and closeout.
• Support internal and external audits, including owner and regulatory inspections.
• Track and report non-conforming work items through resolution.
• Assist with development and implementation of the project Quality Control Plan (QCP).
