Job summary

Ames Construction, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Technician to perform field-level testing, inspection, and documentation for heavy civil projects. You will work directly with the Quality Control Manager on site to ensure compliance with contract specifications and applicable codes.

The role requires 2–4 years of QC experience, knowledge of ASTM/AASHTO standards, and proficiency with QC software. The position involves outdoor work on active construction sites and occasional travel within the

Qualifications

2-4 years of experience in construction quality control or related field role.
Working knowledge of ASTM/AASHTO testing standards for soils, concrete, and aggregates.
Strong written documentation and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

Document daily QC activities, test results, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
Verify materials and workmanship comply with contract plans and specifications prior to and during installation.
Coordinate with project engineers and superintendents to identify and resolve quality issues in the field.
Maintain accurate QC logs, submittals, and inspection reports for project records and closeout.
Support internal and external audits, including owner and regulatory inspections.
Assist with development and implementation of the project Quality Control Plan (QCP).
