Job summary

Ames Construction is seeking a Quality Control Technician to perform field testing, inspections, and documentation to ensure compliance with contract specifications and codes. You will work on active projects, reporting to the Quality Control Manager on site.

Responsibilities include maintaining QC logs, coordinating with engineers, and supporting audits. The role requires outdoor work in varying weather and lifting up to 20 pounds.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction quality control or materials testing.
• Knowledge of ASTM/AASHTO testing standards for soils, concrete, and aggregates.
• Strong written documentation and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Document daily QC activities, test results, and NCRs.
• Verify materials/workmanship comply with contract plans and specs.
• Coordinate with project engineers and superintendents to resolve quality issues on site.
• Maintain QC logs, submittals, and inspection reports for records and closeout.
• Support audits, including owner and regulatory inspections.
• Track and report non-conforming work items through resolution.
• Assist with development and implementation of the project Quality Control Plan (QCP).
