Job summary

American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist with ARRT R/T certification and at least 1 year of experience for a fast-paced outpatient oncology clinic treating adult and geriatric cancer patients.

Schedule is day shift, 07:00-19:00, Monday–Friday with no weekends or call. One Varian machine and a CT simulator support the clinic. Epic charting is preferred and comprehensive team collaboration is required.

Qualifications

• ARRT R/T and ARRT T certs required; CRT cert required.
• BLS cert (AHA only) required; HeartCode not accepted.
• License required if applicable.
• Minimum 1 year experience; 3 years preferred.
• Experience in adult acute care and outpatient settings.
• Experience with custom molds, shields, and block cutting.
• Experience with CBCT/kV/mV imaging and wedges.
• Experience with IMRT, external beam, respiratory gating, SRS.
• Experience with treating Hodgkin's/Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, prostate seeds/fiducials, and other cancers.

Responsibilities

• Provide radiation therapy in a high-volume outpatient oncology setting.
• Work in a fast-paced clinic with ~35 treatment visits/day.
• Operate Varian machine and departmental CT simulator.
• Collaborate with IV, pharmacy, radiology, and social services.
• Maintain Epic charting; orientation provided.
• Adhere to radiation safety and code protocols.
• Flexibility: travel options available; local candidates at local rate.

Requirements

• ARRT R and ARRT T certification required
• BLS certification required (AHA only, HeartCode not accepted)
• CRT certification required
• License required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of experience required; 3 years preferred
• Experience in adult acute care and adult outpatient settings required
• Experience with custom molds, custom shields, and block cutting required
• Experience with CBCT/kV/mV imaging and wedges required
• Experience treating benign brain tumors, prostate cancer with seeds/fiducials, keloids, and gynecomastia required
• Experience with IMRT, external beam therapy, respiratory gating, and stereotactic radiosurgery required
• Experience treating Hodgkin's and Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, pancreatic cancer, testicular cancer, and superior vena cava syndrome required
• Experience with Varian Vision/ARIA, TrueBeam, Varian 21 ex/ix, and Varian Trilogy systems required
• Knowledge of radiation safety and rapid response/code team protocols required
• Teaching hospital, CT simulation, and tumor localization experience preferred
• Experience with Eclipse (Varian) treatment planning system preferred
• Craniospinal, Graves disease, heterotopic bone, and kidney cancer treatment experience preferred
• Experience with GE, Philips, Siemens, and Vision RT equipment preferred
• Management or lead experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Fast-paced outpatient clinic setting with approximately 35 treatment visits per day
• Adult and geriatric patient population with various cancer diagnoses
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 0700-1900, with no weekends, call, or floating
• One Varian treatment machine and one departmental CT simulator
• Support provided by IV teams, pharmacy, radiology, and social services
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Provide radiation therapy treatments in a high-volume outpatient oncology setting
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary support team including IV, pharmacy, radiology, and social services
• 8-hour orientation provided
• Wine or burgundy colored scrubs required, not provided by facility
• Flu vaccine or signed declination form required during flu season (October-March)
• Open to first-time travelers
• Travel pairs accepted
• No restrictive RTO rules
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 75-mile radius
• Former employees of the facility will not be considered
