Job summary

American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist proficient with the Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerator and 2+ years of experience for an outpatient cancer center setting. This role features a Monday–Friday day shift with 4x10-hour shifts, uses Epic EMR and ARIA for treatment planning, and requires ARRT(T) and BLS certification, with licensing as applicable.

Preference given to candidates with community hospital exposure and travel readiness.

Qualifications

• ARRT (T) and BLS certifications required
• License required if applicable
• Minimum of 2 years of experience required
• Proficiency with Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerator required
• Epic experience within the last 18 months required, including documented location of use
• Must pass Epic competency exam on site with only one attempt allowed
• Two supervisory references required for consideration
• Must be clean-shaven if fit testing is required
• Community hospital experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Cancer center treatment setting serving adult acute care and outpatient populations
• Monday through Friday day shift schedule with 4x10-hour shifts
• Shift times may extend later into the evening depending on patient volumes
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerator and ARIA treatment systems
• Uses Epic for electronic medical records
• Treats various cancers including Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, kidney, pancreatic, and testicular cancer
• Performs external beam therapy, IMRT, and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS)
• Travelers expected to float unless otherwise specified
• Responsibilities include beam modifying/positioning, CBCT/kV/mV imaging, and use of wedges
• Perform chart checks, patient/family teaching, and care of patients in restraints
• Follow isolation precautions, PPE, and radiation safety protocols
• Use lift/transfer devices as needed for patient care
• No block scheduling or special schedule requests accommodated
• First-time travelers considered
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• All requested time off must be disclosed prior to consideration, as additional time off will not be approved afterward
