Job summary

Newsandtribune seeks a Radiation Therapist for an outpatient Radiation Oncology clinic, requiring ARRT licensure and Varian True Beam experience. The role features a 10-hour shift schedule (Mon/Wed/Fri, 0800-1630) with no weekends or call, serving 98–99% outpatient population and about 65 patients daily.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in Radiation Oncology (5 preferred), ARRT/T eligibility, and proficiency with SRS/SBRT/VMAT, Mosaiq, and CT simulation. Travel possible beyond 100 miles.

Qualifications

• ARRT licensure required (state license required if applicable).
• Current BLS certification required.
• 3-5 years of experience in Radiation Oncology required, 5 years preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program eligible for ARRT (T) certification.
• Varian True Beam experience required.
• Experience performing SRS, SBRT, and VMAT required.
• Accuray Radixact, Mosaiq Record and Verify, and Siemens CT Simulator GO.PRO experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient clinic setting attached to a hospital, with occasional inpatients brought via transport team.
• 98-99% outpatient population, averaging 65 patients per day.
• Treats all cancer types including lung, breast, brain, head/neck, GYN, metastatic disease, and lymphomas.
• 2:1 therapist-to-machine ratio, 3 therapists on the True Beam machine.
• 2:1 ratio for CT simulation.
• 10-hour shifts, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 5-8's schedule from 0800-1630.
• No weekend rotation and no call requirements.
• May float within department to assist with patient transport, always paired with another therapist.
• Uses Mosaiq for charting (required) and Epic (preferred).
• Work alongside a multidisciplinary team including Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, Dosimetrists, RNs, LPNs, and fellow Radiation Therapists.
• 2-day orientation including online facility orientation and in-person orientation with the Supervisor.
• No holiday coverage required.
• Up to 7 days of time off allowed without manager approval, must extend contract to accommodate a full 13-week term.
• Steel grey scrub color required.
• Free parking available.
• Open to first-time travelers with required experience.
• Travelers must live 100+ miles from the facility, no local candidates accepted.
• Permanent staff must wait a full year before returning as a traveler.
