Job summary

Newsandtribune seeks a Radiation Therapist licensed in Ohio with ARRT-T certification to join a teaching hospital cancer center using Varian TrueBeam and Halcyon linacs with Aria.

Qualifications

• Active Ohio state license required if applicable.
• ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy Technology.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, 5+ years preferred.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Full competency with Varian TrueBeam and Halcyon linacs and Aria required.
• Experience with Vision RT or OSMS preferred but not required.
• DIBH and head & neck cancer treatment experience preferred.
• Experience with respiratory gating, SRS, and treatment of various cancer types including Hodgkin's and Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Leukemia, Kidney and Testicular cancer preferred.
• 2 professional references required, including at least one from a manager or director; charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted

Responsibilities

• Deliver radiation therapy treatments to adult and pediatric patients using advanced linac technology.
• Perform chart checks, dosimetry, and beam modifying/positioning tasksRespond to emergency cases with knowledge of crash cart and defibrillator use.
• Dress code is scrubs (black pants, any top).
• Open to first-time travelers who have experience in a large department setting utilizing Aria and TrueBeam.
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate.
• Former facility employees eligible after 6+ months away; current employees not eligible.
• RTO must be requested and built into the contract at time of consideration, limited to 7 days or less.
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines.

Responsibilities

• Cancer treatment center within a teaching hospital setting
• Adult and pediatric acute care and outpatient patient populations
• Uses Varian TrueBeam, Halcyon, and Aria version 15 treatment units
• Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8.5-hour shifts with a 30-minute lunch break
• Operating hours 10:30am-7:00pm with 10-hour shifts during holiday weeks
• No on-call or weekend requirements
• First week schedule is 8:00am-4:30pm for onboarding
