Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Radiation Therapist for a hospital Radiation Oncology department, offering advanced treatment modalities. The role requires ARRT certification and graduation from a JRCERT-accredited program, with licensure if applicable.

The position features a 36-hour week, 12-hour shifts, and no weekend or on-call requirements. You will administer radiation therapy per physician instructions, enter data, adjust equipment, and assist in treatment planning while maintaining

Qualifications

• ARRT certification required.
• Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiation Therapy Technologist program.
• License required if applicable.
• Experience with low and high brachytherapy preferred.
• Familiarity with QA procedures, radiation dosages, equipment settings, and protective equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Radiation Oncology department.
• Clinic operates from 6:00a-6:00p with shifts varying within those hours.
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week.
• Elekta equipment experience preferred.
• No call or weekend requirements.
• Must be able to work UNC holidays if needed.
• Administer radiation therapy in accordance with physician instructions and patient treatment plans.
• Enter data and adjust equipment to regulate radiation dosage.
• Assist physicians, radiation oncologists, and clinical physicists in preparing treatment plans.
• Construct patient immobilization devices as ordered by physicians.
• Maintain accurate patient and billing records according to department policies.
• Perform routine and complex treatments such as total body irradiation and stereotactic radiosurgery.
• Prepare equipment and treatment rooms for patients.
• Use appropriate protective equipment and procedures to ensure safety.
• Perform quality assurance procedures per state and federal guidelines.
• Provide clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists.
