Job summary

Gilbane Federal seeks a Quality Control Manager to lead all QC staff and activities on large DoD construction projects across the United States. The role requires daily on-site work with travel to multiple locations, ensuring compliance with QC plans and safety standards.

You will mentor a team, conduct technical reviews, and coordinate commissioning and project closeouts, while collaborating with design, construction, and client teams to meet milestones.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or CMAA certification.
• Minimum of 10 years construction experience with at least 4 years as QC Manager.
• USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management for Contractors training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interface professionally with client representatives and subcontractors.
• Review designs and provide feedback to designers.
• Manage in-depth technical reviews of submittals against design documents and manage submittal review/approval status.
• Implement the approved QC Plan and ensure required records are generated and maintained.
• Identify deficiencies, document non-conformances, and monitor corrective actions.
• Stop work if necessary to resolve non-compliant work or safety issues.
• Coordinate and document commissioning and formal completion inspections.
• Manage timely project closeout and turnover of documents.
• Train direct reports on processes, procedures, and daily tasks.
• Manage workload and performance of direct reports to standards.
• Foster a positive, inclusive work environment and motivate the team.
• Communicate company and department strategy to the team.
• Collaborate with business development to align with sales strategies and client deliverables.
