• Schedule includes Fri/Sat/Sun with possible extra weekday shifts
• Overtime available and no floating to other units

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring 2+ years of sleep disorders experience and RPSGT certification.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of related work experience in sleep disorders field preferred
• Graduate of an accredited program in Electroneurodiagnostic Technology, Respiratory Technology, or other medical specialty preferred
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• RPSGT certification required
• License required if applicable
• Knowledge of sleep disorders and electrical safety
• Skilled in computer use for patient documentation and data gathering
• Ability to work with all age groups and unique patient populations

Responsibilities

• Acute care setting, Level 3 trauma center
• Sleep Tech unit with 2 beds
• Performs general sleep studies and neurological testing for all patient populations
• Uses Cerner EMR, transitioning to Epic
• 12-hour night shifts, typically starting at 1800
• Schedule includes Friday/Saturday/Sunday with possible additional weekday shifts
• Overtime available
• No floating to other units/departments
• Educates patients on prescribed therapies and may follow up with patients as applicable
• Provides patient education for sleep testing when necessary
• Troubleshoots technical equipment issues and calls for support as needed
• Monitors and documents in the medical record per facility guidelines
• Demonstrates knowledge of AASM standards and accreditation requirements
• May participate in scoring or tabulation of sleep studies depending on facility needs
• May oversee students or staff providing patient care as part of training
• Unit is currently busy with a backlog of cases requiring scheduling to catch up
• Sleep Technician supervisor provides training and orientation at the Weston unit
• Scrubs required for dress code
• Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
• Former Marshfield employees must have an end date at least 6 months prior to consideration
• Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local
