Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Polysomnographic Technologist for a night shift sleep lab role requiring RPSGT or RST credentialing and 1+ years of sleep lab experience.

The position involves 4x10 hour night shifts, HSAT and in-center studies, and comprehensive patient education. Eligible candidates must reside 50+ miles away and be available for a 13-week contract with potential benefits and reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of sleep lab experience.
• Associate's Degree or certificate in Polysomnographic Technology.
• Current BLS certification.
• RPSGT or RST credentialing through ABSM or BRPT required.
• License required if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital sleep lab performing in-center and HSAT.
• 4x10 hour rotating night shifts, 40 hours per week.
• Rotating weekend shifts with no major holiday coverage required.
• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic sleep studies including MSLT and MWT protocols.
• Provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders, including patient education and support for patients and families.
• Perform PAP interface fitting, desensitization, and patient education.
• Score sleep/wake stages and clinical events using professional guidelines.
• Conduct equipment and physiologic calibrations, and monitor for artifact-free data quality.
• Perform equipment cleaning, disinfection, and infection control per policy.
• Generate accurate reports through tabulation and analysis of sleep/wake and clinical event data.
• Provide age-specific care for all patient populations in the sleep lab.
• Participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives.
• Maintain and request testing supplies, and support overall department organization.
• Must live 50+ miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration.
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract.
