Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Polysomnographer/Sleep Technologist with at least 1 year of experience in adult and pediatric sleep studies for a hospital-based sleep lab. The role involves baseline polysomnography, MSLT, home sleep testing, and seizure studies in a busy environment using Epic charting and ResMed equipment.

Responsibilities include patient care for adults and children, a 1:2 staff ratio, and potential float to sister facilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of polysomnography experience.
• BLS certification is required.
• RPSGT or RRT with SDS is required.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner license required.
• Compact state license must be in hand at submission.
• Epic charting experience is required.
• Experience with PSG staging and scoring.
• Knowledge of CPAP/BiPAP/ASV titration therapies.

Responsibilities

• Perform baseline polysomnography, adult/pediatric MSLT, home sleep testing, and seizure studies.
• Work in hospital sleep lab and potential sister facilities.
• Use Alice and ResMed equipment for studies and titration therapies.
• Ensure patient safety and provide education; 1:2 patient ratio.
• Must work 3 of the 5 major holidays and may float to other facilities.

American Traveler is hiring a Polysomnographer / Sleep Technologist with at least 1 year of experience in adult and pediatric sleep studies for a hospital-based sleep lab.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in polysomnography required
• BLS certification required
• RPSGT or RRT with SDS required
• Respiratory Care Practitioners License required
• Compact state license must be in hand at time of submission
• License required if applicable
• Epic charting experience required
• Community hospital experience preferredSkilled in monitoring cardiac abnormalities, ECG, EEG, O2 saturation, PLM, RIP, and end-tidal CO2
• Experience with PSG staging and scoring including arousal, hypopnea, Cheyne-Stokes, and respiratory events
• Experience with titration therapies including CPAP, BiPAP, VPAP, and ASV
• Experience with mask fitting including full face, nasal mask, and nasal pillow
• Knowledge of infection control and patient education practices

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based sleep lab and independent lab work settings
• Patient population includes both adults and pediatrics
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• 3x12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Epic EMR experience required
• Performs baseline polysomnography, adult and pediatric MSLT, home sleep testing, and seizure studies
• Uses Alice and ResMed equipment
• May be required to float between sister facilities
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays
• Candidates may return to this facility 3 months after separation from previous employment
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• References required: 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
• First-time travelers may be considered
