Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Polysomnographer/Sleep Tech with 2+ years of experience and RPSGT certification for a night shift in a sleep health setting. The role requires BLS, license where applicable, plus strong PSG and monitoring skills.

The position involves 3x12 hour nights, a 1:2 patient ratio, and use of Epic EMR with Nox sleep lab software. Prior lead or hospital/lab experience is a plus, travel not recommended for first-timers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years as Polysomnographer/Sleep Tech.
• Current BLS and RPSGT certification required; RRT and SDS preferred.
• License required if applicable.
• Epic charting experience preferred.
• Proficiency with monitoring cardiac abnormalities, EEG, PSG and related tech.
• Experience with end-tidal CO2 monitoring preferred.
• Experience with adult, pediatric and sleep study procedures.

Responsibilities

• Sleep health clinic setting open 6 days a week.
• Night shift, 3x12 hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Shifts scheduled Sun/Mon/Tues or Wed/Thurs/Fri.
• Patient ratio of 1:2.
• Uses Epic EMR and Nox sleep lab software system.
• Perform patient education and infection control practices.
• Management/lead experience preferred.
• Experience in hospital and independent lab settings preferred.
• First-time travelers will not be considered.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Polysomnographer/Sleep Tech
• Current BLS and RPSGT certification required; RRT and SDS preferred
• License required if applicable
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Proficiency with monitoring cardiac abnormalities, ECG, EEG, O2 saturation, periodic limb movement, PSG, and respiratory inductance plethysmography
• Experience with End-Tidal CO2 monitoring preferred
• Experience conducting adult MWT, adult MSLT, baseline PSG, home sleep tests, newborn PSG with CPAP/BiPAP, pediatric MWT, pediatric MSLT, portable sleep studies, research studies, and seizure studies
• Proficiency with staging and scoring including arousal, Cheyne-Stokes, complex sleep apnea, hypopnea, periodic breathing, PSG scoring, respiratory events, sleep stages, and transient arousals
• Experience with titration including ASV, BiPAP, CPAP, oxygen administration, and VPAP
• Experience with mask fitting including full face, nasal mask, and nasal pillow
• Experience with Alice, Cadwell, Digitrace, ResMed, and Respironics equipment preferred
