Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Polysomnographer / Sleep Tech for a hospital-based sleep lab in Oregon. Requires at least 1 year of experience and an Oregon Polysomnography License in hand before consideration.

The position involves night shifts (3x12 hours, 6:30 PM–7:00 AM) with a 2:1 patient ratio, block scheduling, and no on-call requirements. Some travel between sister facilities may be needed, using Epic EMR for charting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in polysomnography or sleep tech.
• BLS certification required.
• Oregon Polysomnography License in hand at submission.
• RPSGT certification required.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Proficient in monitoring: EtCO2, ECG, EEG, SpO2 and periodic limb movements.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based sleep lab setting within a short-term acute care facility.
• Patient ratio of 2:1.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Block schedule required.
• Weekend shifts required, with Friday night into Saturday morning.
• No on-call requirements.
• No floating between units, may float between sister facilities.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience required
• BLS certification required
• Oregon Polysomnography License required in hand at time of submission (license required if applicable)
• RPSGT certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in monitoring including End-Tidal CO2, ECG, EEG, O2 Saturation, and Periodic Limb Movement
• Experience with PSG, RIP, and various sleep study types including MSLT, Baseline PSG, and Home Sleep Testing
• Proficient in staging and scoring including arousal, Cheyne-Stokes, complex sleep apnea, hypopnea, and respiratory events
• Experience with titration therapies including ASV, BiPAP, CPAP, VPAP, and oxygen administration
• Skilled in mask fitting including full face, nasal mask, and nasal pillow
• Familiarity with ResMed equipment
• Knowledge of infection control and patient education practices

• Candidates must live within a 50-mile radius for local rate eligibility
• Former Providence permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility, including dates and location, at time of submission
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years are required during the compliance process and prior to start
