Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist with 2+ years of specialty experience and a PA or compact PT license for a Monday-Friday day/mid-shift schedule.

The outpatient clinic setting involves orthopedic and neurologic rehab, EPIC charting, and strict credentialing (BLS/CPR, labor- and mileage-related policies). Local candidates within 50 miles may receive a differential. First travelers welcomed with relevant experience.

Qualifications

• PA or compact PT license required.
• BLS and CPR certification required.
• Minimum 2 years outpatient PT experience.
• EPIC charting experience required.
• Experience with orthopedic conditions (ankle sprains, hip fractures, knee injuries).
• Experience with neurologic rehab (stroke, TBI, MS).
• Proficiency in evaluation, documentation, and discharge planning.
• Experience with modalities (cryotherapy, moist heat, TENS, ultrasound).
• Experience with mobility aids (crutches, gait belts, walkers).
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid/workers compensation billing.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient clinic setting within the PT Outpatient unit.
• Schedule is Monday-Friday with rotating day/mid shifts (5x8 hours, 7:00-15:00 or 11:00-19:00).
• Manager may consider a 4x10 schedule.
• No on-call requirements.
• No floating required.
• No weekend or holiday requirements.
• Uses EPIC for charting.
• First-time travelers accepted with appropriate experience.
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a different rate.
• Local rate differential applies.
• RTO must be submitted prior to consideration and cannot be added afterward.
• PA fingerprint clearance required within one week of signing, which may require travel over 100 miles.
• Labs must be completed within 48 hours of signing.
• Pass/fail clinical exam required for clearance, with a maximum of 3 attempts.
• Two valid professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years and copies of certifications required for consideration.

• Experience treating orthopedic conditions including ankle sprains, DDD, DJD, frozen shoulder, hip fractures, knee injuries, and post-op joint and spinal surgeries
• Experience with neurologic conditions such as stroke rehabilitation, TBI, MS, and cognitive disorders
• Proficiency in assessment, documentation, and care planning including evaluations, reassessments, and discharge planning
• Experience with modalities such as cryotherapy, moist heat, TENS, and ultrasound
• Experience with equipment including crutches, gait belts, and walkers
• Knowledge of billing types including Medicare B, commercial, Medicaid, and workers compensation
