Qualifications

• Must hold a valid PTA license in Vermont and New Hampshire or possess a compact license.
• Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• One year of home health care experience preferred but not mandatory.

• Monitor, document, and report changes in patient conditions to the supervising PT.
• Educate patients and caregivers in self-care techniques and home programs.
• Complete required clinical documentation accurately and timely per agency standards.

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a registered Physical Therapist to provide physical therapy services following a patient plan of care. Your role will be crucial in assisting patients to relieve pain, restore function, and enhance their overall performance through various therapeutic techniques.

Responsibilities

• Administer treatment to patients as prescribed by a physician after evaluation by a registered Physical Therapist.
• Implement treatment plans developed collaboratively with the registered Physical Therapist to promote recovery and functional independence.
• Facilitate both active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, and functional training, including activities of daily living.
• Utilize therapeutic equipment such as ultra-violet and infrared lamps, diathermy, and ultrasound machines.
• Monitor, document, and report changes in patient conditions and responses to treatment to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients and their caregivers in self-care techniques and therapeutic activities.
• Complete required clinical documentation accurately and in a timely manner per agency standards.
