Job summary

Aspire Talent Solutions in Charleston, SC seeks a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent hire. Position requires travel to Mt. Pleasant, West Ashley, Goose Creek, Summerville, Walterboro and surrounding areas; mileage reimbursed. Schedule 6am-5pm, Mon-Fri.

Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifugation and data entry; emphasizes patient communication and accuracy; must have valid phlebotomy certification and 1 year experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.
• Minimum 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the venipuncture process and other specimen collection as required.
• Demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles, understand physicians' orders, match requisitions to tubes, label, centrifuge, and freeze specimens as required.
• Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store per required temperatures, comply with OSHA/DEP regulations, attend trainings, answer inquiries.
