Job summary

Job Juncture in North Charleston, SC is seeking a contract phlebotomist for a 3-month assignment with potential to perm.

This float role covers multiple South Carolina sites, requires blood draws, specimen handling, labeling, centrifuging, and OSHA compliance; travel to Mt. Pleasant, West Ashley, Goose Creek, Summerville, and Walterboro is required.

Requires valid Phlebotomy certification, 6 months to 1 year of experience in a fast-paced lab, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing assigned duties and troubleshooting in phlebotomy.
• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture and other specimen collection as required.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Package specimens for transport
