Job summary

Bon Secours in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Phlebotomist for Western Branch Family Practice. You will draw blood, prepare specimens for testing, and support clerical duties to keep the lab running efficiently.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED, and phlebotomy certification is preferred but not required; one year of phlebotomy or customer service experience is a plus. Travel to off-site locations is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomist certification preferred but not required.
• One year phlebotomy experience or customer service in retail/service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide excellent customer service.
• Collect blood specimens following established procedures.
• Accurately identify patients and match identity with service.
• Enter data and process specimens (labeling, centrifuging, splitting, freezing).
• Handle clerical duties: inventory, stocking, answer phones.
• Troubleshoot issues and resolve problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
