Job summary

Travel Stepdown RN position available in Charleston, SC. The role focuses on caring for patients transitioning from ICU, monitoring cardiac rhythms, administering medications, and supporting multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, patient-centered care.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of stepdown experience, an active RN license, and required BLS/ACLS certifications, with preferred PCCN/NIHSS credentials. Strong critical thinking and communication are essential.

Qualifications

Job description

Role:

Travel Stepdown RN

Responsibilities:

Provide specialized care to patients transitioning from intensive care, monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs, administer medications, assist with cardiac procedures, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, patient-centered care. Document patient assessments, respond to emergencies, educate patients on cardiac health, and maintain safety and infection control protocols.

Qualifications & Skills:

Requires one year of recent Stepdown RN experience, active RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications. Preferred certifications include PCCN and NIHSS. Must possess critical thinking, excellent communication, physical stamina, and ability to work effectively with diverse teams. Must meet physical, motor, mental, and sensory demands necessary for patient care.

Key Duties:

Monitor telemetry data, interpret cardiac rhythms, administer treatments, assist with procedures, observe and record patient responses, respond to cardiac emergencies, and support patient education. Maintain confidentiality, adhere to safety protocols, and perform additional duties within scope of practice.
