Job summary

CARIN Alliance is seeking a Travel Stepdown RN to provide specialized care for patients transitioning from ICU, with emphasis on telemetry interpretation and rapid response to cardiac events.

You will monitor cardiac status, administer treatments, document assessments, and educate patients on heart health while adhering to safety and infection control protocols. A minimum of one year in Stepdown is required, with RN licensure and BLS/ACLS certification.

Qualifications

• One year of recent Travel Stepdown RN experience.
• Valid RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications.
• PCCN and NIHSS preferred; demonstrate critical thinking, communication and technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient cardiac status and hemodynamics.
• Respond to cardiac emergencies and administer treatments as ordered.
• Document assessments and care interventions.
• Educate patients and families on cardiac health and lifestyle changes.

Job description

Role: Travel Stepdown RN

Responsibilities:

Provide specialized care to patients transitioning from intensive care, including monitoring cardiac rhythms, administering medications, preparing equipment, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, patient-centered care. Maintain patient safety, document assessments, respond to emergencies, and educate patients on cardiac health and lifestyle modifications.

Qualifications:

One year of recent Stepdown RN experience, valid RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications. Preferred certifications include PCCN and NIHSS. Must demonstrate critical thinking, strong communication, and technical skills.

Skills & Abilities:

Ability to interpret telemetry data, perform fine manipulations, work effectively under pressure, and maintain confidentiality. Physical capacity to move equipment and assist with procedures, along with visual acuity and effective communication.

Key Duties:

Monitor patient cardiac status, respond to cardiac emergencies, administer treatments, record assessments, provide patient education, and adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
