Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The PCU RN will care for patients requiring close monitoring and frequent assessment, with 36 hours per week on a 12-hour night shift.

Immediate openings for RNs with 1-2 years of acute care experience, in a fast-paced, step-down environment. The position features travel assignment benefits and comprehensive patient care responsibilities, including medication

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.
• PCU/step-down care experience preferred.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIH may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications, reporting adverse reactions.
• Monitor and adjust specialized monitoring equipment and record readings.
• Initiate corrective actions when monitoring shows adverse signs.
