Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Springfield, Illinois. This position is a 13-week assignment with a 36-hour work week on day shift.

The PCU RN will provide care for patients requiring close monitoring and frequent assessment, with responsibilities including bedside care, IV starts, medication administration, and monitoring of cardiac and other vital information.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience is required.
• BLS and NIH certifications are required; additional certifications may be needed before start.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications and report adverse reactions.
• Monitor and adjust equipment and interpret electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action when monitoring shows abnormal symptoms.
