Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Med Surg assignment in Urbana, Illinois. The role requires 1–2 years of acute care experience, ACLS and BLS certification, and offers a 13-week contract with 36 hours per week on 12-hour day shifts.

The PCU nurse will monitor patients requiring close observation, manage medications, and respond to changes in patient condition. This travel position provides benefits typical of travel staffing and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS required.
• Minimum 2 years acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and document prescribed medications.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs and medical equipment.
• Respond to alarms and initiate corrective actions as needed.
