Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU – Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Rockford, Illinois. The PCU RN will monitor cardiac and other vitals, perform basic bedside care, and manage medications in a fast-paced, step-down environment.

Ideal candidates have ACLS/BLS and 1–2 years of acute care experience, with availability for a 13-week assignment. This travel role includes 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week, and tax-free stipends as applicable.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• PCU/step-down experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed meds and report adverse reactions.
• Monitor equipment and interpret electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective actions based on monitor data.
