Job summary

TotalMed RN in San Diego, CA seeks a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN for a travel assignment. The role focuses on close monitoring of cardiac patients, titrating medications and coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of acute care experience and necessary ACLS/BLS/NIH certifications.

Assignment spans 13 weeks with 48 hours weekly, nights shift. Travel nurses work in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in California.
• 1–2 years recent acute care experience.
• PCU/stepdown experience preferred.
• ACLS, BLS, NIH certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications.
• Monitor and interpret patient data from monitoring equipment.
• Initiate corrective actions based on equipment and patient status.
