Job summary

Acuren is seeking PAUT Technicians for operations in Akron, OH and surrounding areas. This callout/travel position requires ability to travel up to 90% throughout Akron and surrounding areas, with pipeline environments.

The work involves testing, inspection, and reporting related to structural integrity of client assets. Responsibilities include conducting NDT tests, developing techniques for approval, supervising others when needed, and preparing detailed project reports while adhering

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Some college coursework is preferred.
• Technical background in NDT (METHOD/S; UT, UTPA, PAUT, CR, DR, etc.) with five years experience.
• Current NDT certifications in (METHOD/S; UT, UTPA, PAUT, CR, DR, etc.) required.
• Supervisory experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to perform NDT tasks and interpret results; knowledge of NDT equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tests to detect defects using NDT methods and inspect objects.
• Establish techniques for proper examination following safety regulations.
• Apply testing criteria per specifications and evaluate results.
• Identify, track, manage and mitigate risk on client engagements; escalate when needed.
• Review asset documentation and operational data from NDE activities.
• Complete integrity assessments including site walkdowns when required.
• Prepare project reports with conclusions and recommendations.
• Perform specialized inspections as needed.
• Develop techniques for approval by customer certifying agents.
• May instruct and supervise others.
• Handle other duties as assigned; interface with customers on schedules and problem solving.
• Maintain knowledge of ASME and API requirements for equipment in continued serviceability.
• Adhere to industry health and safety policies; communicate with customers about schedules and issues.
• Proficient with applicable software and computer equipment.
