Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Cardiac Device Technician to support the Heart Center by performing device interrogations, remote transmissions review, and patient education. You will work 40 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, with potential travel to satellite offices.

The role requires knowledge of pacemakers and defibrillators, strong computer skills, and the ability to communicate complex information to patients and care teams.

Qualifications

• High School diploma; preferred 3–5 years cardiovascular clinical experience.
• Familiar with cardiac devices such as pacemakers and automatic internal defibrillators.
• Proficient with EMR systems and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care for cardiac device patients and remote monitoring reviews.
• Perform device interrogations and reprogramming as needed in the office setting.
• Review remote transmissions and correlate with patient condition to manage arrhythmias.
• Explain procedures and test results to patients in understandable terms.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and billing systems.
• Collaborate with physicians and device nurses to ensure continuity of care.
