Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Occupational Therapy Assistant for a 13-week assignment in Sandy Spring, Maryland. The role requires 1 year of OTA experience and current BLS and COTA certification.

You will deliver therapy under supervision, document progress, assist with exercises, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, while complying with licensure rules and facility standards.

Qualifications

• Must have 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Hold current BLS and COTA National certification.
• State-specific licensure is required.
• OTAs should be able to lift and assist patients safely with good communication and OT knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Deliver therapeutic activities and interventions as directed by the supervising OT.
• Monitor patient progress and report observations to the OT to support treatment plan adjustments.
• Document patient performance and progress accurately and in a timely manner per facility and state guidelines.
• Assist patients with exercises, mobility training, and use of adaptive equipment.
• Educate patients and families on techniques to improve independence in daily activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas and equipment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated care.
• Comply with state licensing rules and adhere to facility and professional standards.
