Job summary

TotalMed is seeking an OR travel nurse (RN) to work in Framingham, MA. The assignment is 13 weeks, 40 hours per week, with 10-hour day shifts as a traveling operating room nurse. Acute care experience as circulating/scrub RN or RN first assistant is preferred.

Responsibilities include assisting surgical teams, pre- and post-op care, patient education, medication administration, and instrument handling. ACLS and BLS are required; 2 years of recent OR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• 2 years of OR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients.
• Provide pre- and post-surgery care and education to the patient.
• Act as a communication liaison between patients' family and operating team.
• Ensure correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications; report adverse reactions.
