Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The OR Travel Nurse will support physicians and staff, perform circulating or scrub duties, and participate in pre- and post-surgery care with a focus on patient safety.

Requirements include ACLS, BLS, and 1-2 years of acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse. Travel duration is 13 weeks with 40 hours per week on a 8-hour evening shift.

Qualifications

• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• 1-2 years’ recent acute care experience as circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse; RN first assistant possible

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and staff in caring for surgical patients before, during and after procedures.
• Provide pre- and post-surgery education to patients and families.
• Prepare instruments and equipment for procedures; maintain sterile field as required.
• Monitor patient during surgery and respond to potential complications with the team.
• Administer medications as prescribed and document appropriately.
