Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an OR - Operating Room travel nurse for Falls Church, VA. The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of acute care experience as a circulating or scrub nurse, and may qualify as RN First Assistant.

The assignment is 16 weeks with 40 hours per week and an 8-hour rotating shift. Responsibilities include assisting physicians, providing perioperative care, medication administration, patient education, and effective communication within the operating team.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS required for assignment.
• 2 years of recent acute care experience as circulating and/or scrub RN.
• RN First Assistant experience may be required before starting.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and surgical team in caring for patients.
• Provide pre- and post-surgery care and patient education.
• Monitor patient during surgery and assist with instruments as needed.
