Job summary

TotalMed RN seeks an OR travel nurse for a 13-week assignment in Reston, VA. The role supports surgeons and staff, performing circulating, scrub, and potentially RN First Assistant duties on a 12-hour day shift, with 36 hours per week.

The candidate should have 1–2 years of acute care experience, ACLS/BLS, and be prepared to handle instrument prep, patient education, and post‑operative care in a fast-paced OR environment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse.
• RN first assistant potential.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Additional certifications may be required before assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting adverse reactions.
• Serve as liaison between patients' families and operating team.
• Ensure correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education plan per physician.
