Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN-Operating Room for an evening shift in Dayton, OH. The role requires scrubbing and circulating in a Level I/II trauma setting and offers a travel assignment with 28 OR suites and a 3:00pm–11:00pm schedule.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN license (any state or compact), BLS, and at least 2 years of OR experience including trauma exposure. Epic charting experience is required, and duties include versatile scrub/circulation across multiple

Qualifications

• Active RN license (any state or compact license accepted).
• No license disciplinary action.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience, including at least 1.5 years in Level I or large Level II trauma setting.
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience required.
• Must be able to both circulate and scrub.
• Experience scrubbing for neuro, eyes, or trauma cases preferred.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Experience in General OR, General Surgery, Gynecology, Orthopedic, and Urology procedures required.
• Familiarity with cell saver equipment and blood/blood product administration.
• Knowledge of infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling, and Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit with 28 OR suites.
• Evening shift, 5x8 hours, 3:00pm-11:00pm, Monday-Friday.
• No weekend shifts required.
• Call required approximately once every 3rd or 4th weekend for an 8-hour shift.
• Holiday coverage required as needed.
• Uses da Vinci robotics system.
• May float within the hospital or to another nearby facility based on skill set and census.
• Responsible for circulating and scrubbing across a variety of surgical specialties including general surgery, gynecology, orthopedics, and urology.
• Maximum of 14 days RTO allowed per contract, with no schedule requests negotiated after an offer is made.
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted.
• Previous perm/PRN staff or prior agency candidates not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before reapplying as a traveler, pending facility rehire approval.
