Job summary
TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Start ASAP for a 13-week assignment requiring 1-2 years acute care experience as a circulating nurse or scrub nurse, potentially RN first assistant.
As an OR Travel Nurse, you will assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients, as well as providing pre- and post-surgery care and education to the patient. Travel benefits include weekly pay and guaranteed hours.
Qualifications
- BLS certification required.
- 1 year of acute care experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic bedside care.
- Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications.
- Serve as liaison between patients' families and operating team.
- Ensure correct procedures are performed on the correct patient.
- Initiate patient education as prescribed by physicians.
- Respond to comfort and safety needs of patients.
- Monitor equipment used during surgery.
- Assist physicians by delivering direct surgical care.
- Help control bleeding and suture following surgery.
