Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an Operating Room travel nurse for a Scranton, PA assignment. The RN will support physicians and staff in perioperative care, both pre and post-surgery, and may perform circulating, scrub, or first-assistant tasks as needed.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of acute care experience as a circulating or scrub nurse, with BLS and an active RN license. This travel role offers 40 hours per week with day shifts and a 13-week duration.

Qualifications

• BLS and RN license are required.
• 1 year of acute care experience preferred.
• Travel RN role requires OR nursing competencies including circulating/scrub RN tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Administer and record prescribed medications.
• Serve as liaison between patients' families and operating team.
• Ensure correct procedure and patient readiness for surgery.
• Educate patients and families on medications and home care needs.
• Assist in circulating or scrub roles as needed during procedures.
• Support RN first assistant duties as applicable.
