Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an OR Travel Nurse for Johnstown, PA. The travel RN will support operating room staff, handling circulating and scrub duties, and potentially RN first assistant responsibilities. The role requires 1.5 years of acute care experience and certifications such as ACLS, BLS, CPI.

Qualifications

• 1.5 years of acute care experience as circulating nurse or scrub nurse
• ACLS, BLS, CPI required; additional certifications may be required

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting adverse reactions
• Serve as communication liaison between patients' family members and the operating team
• Ensure that the correct procedure is performed on the patient
• Initiate patient education on medications and home care needs
• Circulating OR Nurses: respond to comfort and safety needs, handle specimens, monitor equipment
• Scrub OR Nurses: select and handle instruments, inventory items pre- and post-procedure
• RN First Assistant: assist physicians, help control bleeding, suture patients after surgery
