Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an OR travel nurse (RN) for Johnstown, PA. This 13-week assignment offers 40 hours per week with 8-hour rotating shifts in the operating suite.

Candidates should have 1-2 years acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse, and potentially RN first assistant responsibilities. You will assist physicians and staff in caring for surgical patients, perform pre- and post-surgery education, and manage instrument handling, safety checks, and intraoperative communication.

Qualifications

• ACLS, BLS, CPI certifications required or preferred.
• 1.5 years of relevant experience mentioned in requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications and report reactions.
• Serve as liaison between patients' families and the operating team.
• Ensure correct procedures are performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education on medication and home care needs.
