Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an OR travel nurse in Indianapolis, IN for a 13-week assignment. The position requires 1-2 years of acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse, and possibly RN first assistant duties.

Expect responsibilities in pre- and post-surgery care and collaboration with physicians and staff. Travel RNs should be prepared to perform circulating, scrub, or assistant tasks, manage medications, and educate patients and families.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience as circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse; RN first assistant possible.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication; report adverse reactions.
• Serve as liaison between patients’ family and operating team.
• Ensure correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician; teach home care needs.
